Friendship
By Anjan Saha
One friend to another
Let me speak frankly
You know how my life
Has so far gone
And what in the near
Future is likely
A good friend
A better friend, for
One will not come this way
Unless in the guise of a stranger
But let me make this plain
Though we are both
Travellers through
This same sea
No one really knows what is
In each others mind
Though approximate compasses we may be
We should not be anchored by
The other
Save for exchange of charts and spice
One friend to another
